Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you’ve had a splendid week! I’m working on getting over a cold, but overall doing well! Today I want to share some tips on how I’ve come to get such a thick bible, in just about 8 months. It’s not easy and can’t be done overnight. It takes time and commitment to get a big Bible, but the results are completely worth it! So today I’m going to share with you the two main things I’ve done to get a big Bible.
#1
First things first, you’ll need to focus on is the supplies you use in your Bible. In order to achieve a thick Bible you’ll want to use supplies that create thicker pages.
Watercolors are one simple way to do this. While highly functional on your pages for adding color and details, they also have the added benefit of wrinkling your pages. While one wrinkly page may not make huge difference, if you do it enough it’ll begin to thicken your Bible right up. The effects of watercolor wrinkles aren’t always as long lasting as some other options though. After time they can flatten out due to being squished when the Bible is close.
Another easy, long lasting, way to add thickness is with stickers and embellishments. I prefer to use alphabet stickers and the printable cutouts from our shop. If they are layered, they’ll create even more thickness. Again, while one page may not make much difference, it’s all about consistency. If you keep using them it starts to make a difference.
You’ll also find that marking your pages with tabs (see Jeanna’s blog on this for more details) or better yet paperclips with fabric, ribbon or tassels attached makes the most difference. Once again, the more you use, the thicker the Bible.

Second, and most important, is a commitment to regularly creating in your Bible. You have to want this for yourself, no one else can make you do it or do it for you. As mentioned above, the supplies only really make a difference when they are accumulated together over numerous pages.
My first bible took me about three years to reach the point where I was ready for a new one. I was not nearly as committed to creating as I am now. The only way I got these results was by committing to creating regularly. I recommend setting a goal of creating at least three times a week, if not more. Keep in mind you can do multiple pages a day if you are willing to make the time.
For real though…
Ok, enough joking around… I mean… I was serious, that really is how I got a big Bible, but also being silly. The truth is, it doesn’t matter how thick your Bible is. The whole point is to be in The Word, whether you end up with a thick Bible or not, you’re leaving your time in The Word better off. Your spiritual health is far more important than appearances of spirituality. If you’re consistently reading that good book, you’re doing well no matter how thick or thin it is. If your Bible gets thick as a result of your time in The Word, creating, that’s just a fun benefit.
I hope you all appreciated the silliness of today’s post. Just trying to have a bit of fun. Comment below with one way time in God’s Word has benefited you.
